The original self-leveling system has a much weaker spring than what would normally be used to support the weight of the car. In this application, the shock absorber has a built-in hydraulic self-leveling function. This function, unlike a normal shock absorber, also supports part of the vehicle's weight.
As a result, the failure of the automatic leveling function is what causes the vehicle to stay low, as it now relies solely on the spring to support the weight of the vehicle.
Pedders Suspension solves this problem by providing a set of shock absorbers and springs specifically tailored for this purpose. You can buy with full confidence that the vehicle will have the correct height and your troublesome and expensive self-leveling shocks will be a thing of the past.
