Foam Cell Shock Absorber

The Foam Cell Shock Absorbers with twin-tube design are high-performance shock absorbers that allow for constant and precise control of the ride without compromising ride comfort on the most demanding terrains.

Specially manufactured for Land Rover models Discovery Series II from 1999 to 2005.

Under normal conditions, the oil flows through the piston valves providing the necessary control, but under demanding conditions, the 'cavitation' effect can occur where small gas bubbles mix with the oil. These bubbles are easily compressible, reducing the performance of the shock absorber significantly.

The TrackRyder shock absorbers from Pedders, having a thicker design and therefore a larger diameter piston, offer better control of oil flow through their valves under normal conditions. In demanding or even extreme conditions, the shock absorber maintains efficiency thanks to the foam cell technology that prevents the formation of bubbles while facilitating heat dissipation. Another advantage of a twin-tube design like the Pedders TrackRyder, especially in off-road driving, is that if stones hit the shock absorber body and dent it, it will not be damaged and therefore will not affect the shock absorber's operation.
